German expat enjoying life in New Zealand. Lover of silence and simplicity. I'm a co-founder at domain registrar iWantMyName.
This is what happens when you're operating a domain management service and the biggest registrar worldwide has some 'image issues'.
The impact of Go Daddy's two PR disasters in 2011 on iWantMyName customer growth:
First Orcas, now hundreds of dolphins. Wondering what's next. Whales maybe?
You can’t change your entire life.
You can only change your next action.
—
You can’t change a relationship with a loved one.
You can only change your next interaction.
—
You can’t change your entire job.
You can only change your next task.
—
You can’t change your body composition.
You can only change your next meal.
—
You can’t change your fitness level.
You can only start moving.
—
You can’t declutter your entire life.
You can only get choose to get rid of one thing, right now.
—
You can’t eliminate your entire debt.
You can only make one payment, or buy one less unnecessary item.
—
You can’t change the past, or control the future.
You can only change what you’re doing right now.
—
You can’t change everything.
You can only change one, small thing.
And that’s all it takes.

Val was following them along the bay:
I love working from home... :)
The Official music video for Amethyst Caverns from the Shatter Soundtrack.
It’s a story of 3 robots that perhaps come from another planet or universe and land in Wellington New Zealand low on power. These little robot’s are powered by sound, so they start searching through the city trying to find the compatible sound source they detected to power them up and get them home. Once they find the sound source (which happens to me busking) they approach me at that point, I notice they are making cool music, so I do what any good busker would do… hit record and jamm out with them with my awesome big boombox! They Power up and fly away leaving me with a recording of that jamm out session... :)
Picture from our balcony in Houghton Bay. The mountains are mysteriously covered in the clouds.
Weekend trip to Castlepoint, "a spectacular stretch of Wairarapa coastline". Indeed.
Some pictures from our http://iwantmyname.com booth at the Australasian Linux Conference 2010.
We started in Nelson with sunny weather, made our way down to the Glaciers during heavy rainfalls and continued to Queenstown where the mountains were covered with fresh snow. The highlight at our final destination Dunedin was a huge New Zealand Sea Lion sleeping on the beach.
New Zealand is a real beauty, isn't it?
We've been really lucky to see this massive ice fall during a short guided tour at Fox Glacier last week.
